Welcome to Perky Poodle House – Where Passion Meets Perfection!
Dogs have been the heart of my world for as long as I can remember. From training neighborhood pups to watching the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show as a child, my love for dogs has shaped my life. My journey into the world of conformation and performance sports began with a remarkable Newfoundland named Finn. While I adored his cheerful personality, I soon realized I needed a smaller, more versatile breed that embodied the same lively spirit.
That’s when I discovered Poodles, a breed bursting with intelligence, elegance, and boundless enthusiasm! My search led me to meet passionate breeders and learn everything I could about these incredible dogs. I knew I had found my perfect match.
My first Poodle, a spunky and clever companion named “Charlie,” opened my eyes to the breed’s remarkable trainability, loving temperament, and joyful energy. Together, we explored obedience, agility, and even scent work, there was nothing he couldn’t do! Charlie taught me the art of patience, humor, and true companionship, solidifying my lifelong devotion to Poodles.
At Perky Poodle House, our mission is to raise exceptional, well-rounded Poodles who are not only stunning but also excel in temperament and health. Whether destined for the show ring, performance sports, or as cherished family companions, every puppy we breed is raised with love, dedication, and a deep respect for the breed’s heritage.

Perky Poodle House – Happy Paws, Happy Homes!
At Perky Poodle House, our adorable poodles bring love, laughter, and companionship to every home! While poodles are intelligent, affectionate, and eager to please, it’s essential to guide their interactions with children and other pets to ensure a harmonious household.
Poodles thrive in family settings but, like all dogs, they need to understand boundaries. Teaching your poodle gentle play manners will help prevent any overly enthusiastic jumping or playful nibbling. With proper training, your poodle will become a loving, well-mannered companion for kids of all ages!
It’s just as important to educate children on how to approach and interact with their furry friend. Always supervise playtime to ensure a positive experience for both the pup and your little ones. Teach children to respect their poodle’s space, especially during meals or rest time, and to handle them gently—no tugging on tails or ears!
Poodles also get along well with other pets, but introductions should be done carefully. Some poodles may have a playful instinct to chase smaller animals, so early socialization and training are key. With patience and positive reinforcement, your poodle will quickly learn to live happily with their furry siblings.
At Perky Poodle House, we believe every pup deserves a loving home filled with joy, snuggles, and fun! ❤️🐩
The Perky Poodle: A Remarkable Breed of Elegance and Charm!
Despite their fancy reputation, Poodles are more than just stylish pups, they’re intelligent, energetic, and incredibly versatile! Originally bred as water retrievers in the USA, these curly-coated companions quickly became beloved worldwide for their sharp minds and playful personalities. Poodles thrive on mental and physical stimulation, excelling in agility, obedience, and even therapy work. Whether they’re dazzling in the show ring or cuddling up at home, these perky pups bring joy, loyalty, and plenty of charm to their families!

The Perky Poodle’s Perfect Coat: Care Tips for a Fluffy, Fabulous Pup!
The Poodle is known for its luxurious, curly coat that’s both elegant and hypoallergenic. Unlike other breeds, Poodles don’t shed much, but their soft, dense curls require regular maintenance to keep them looking their best.
Poodles have a signature coat texture, tight, springy curls that help protect them from the elements. Whether kept in a classic show cut or a fun, low-maintenance trim, their fur requires consistent brushing to prevent matting. Regular grooming ensures their coat remains soft, healthy, and free from tangles, especially in high-friction areas like behind the ears, under the legs, and around the tail.
Poodles come in a variety of stunning colors, including apricot, black, white, silver, cream, and even striking patterns like parti or phantom. Their coats can change subtly over time, with some colors deepening or fading as they mature.
To keep your Poodle looking perky and polished, weekly brushing with a slicker brush and comb is a must! A dog-friendly detangling spray can make grooming easier, and regular trims (every 4-6 weeks) help maintain a tidy appearance. Since Poodles don’t naturally shed their coat, professional grooming sessions are a great way to keep them in top shape.
Bathing your Poodle every few weeks with a gentle dog shampoo keeps their curls clean and soft. Be sure to check their ears regularly, as their floppy ears can trap moisture, making them prone to infections. Nail trims and paw hair maintenance are also key to keeping them comfortable and happy.
A well-groomed Poodle isn’t just a stylish companion, it’s a happy, healthy, and perky pup! Whether they sport a chic continental clip or a practical puppy cut, their coat is a statement of their fun-loving, intelligent personality.
Perky Poodle House: Feeding Your Poodle for a Happy, Healthy Life!
To keep your perky Poodle full of energy and tail wags, feed them 1.5 to 2.5 cups of high-quality dry food daily, split into two meals. Every Poodle is unique, factors like size, age, build, metabolism, and activity level determine their perfect portion. An active, playful pup will need more food than a couch-loving cuddle buddy!
Quality matters! Premium dog food means better nutrition, so your Poodle may need less to stay fit and fabulous.
To keep your Poodle at their best weight, always measure their meals and feed them twice a day, no free feeding! Not sure if your pup is in tip-top shape? Try these simple checks:
🐩 Look from above, a well-defined waist means they’re on track.
🐾 Feel their ribs, you should sense them without pressing too hard.
If their ribs are hiding, it’s time to adjust portions and add some extra playtime. A healthy Poodle is a happy Poodle! 🎾💖
Keeping Your Perky Poodle Happy and Active!
If you have a yard, make sure it’s securely fenced, your playful Poodle loves to explore but should stay safe within boundaries. Underground electronic fences aren’t ideal for this smart and curious breed, as their enthusiasm might outweigh any deterrent. Always use a leash on walks unless they are well-trained in recall.
Your Poodle thrives on daily exercise, needing 30 minutes to an hour of activity that stimulates both their body and brilliant mind. Whether it’s a game of fetch, agility training, or a fun obedience challenge, keeping them engaged is key. Puzzle toys are a great way to entertain them when you’re busy, ensuring their sharp minds stay active.
Puppies, however, require gentler play. Avoid excessive jumping or running on hard surfaces until they’re at least a year old to protect their developing joints.
Though Poodles are known for their affectionate nature, they also need proper training to curb unwanted behaviors like jumping or excessive barking. Positive reinforcement, treats, praise, and playtime, work best to keep them eager to learn and please their humans.
With the right guidance and plenty of love, your Perky Poodle will be a joyful, well-mannered companion, always ready for fun and adventure!
